From a Chicago home office to 12 acres in Lee County

It started near Wrigley Field, with plants crowding a home office and peppers guerrilla-planted in the local parks. The grocery store carried three or four types of peppers — the seed catalogs held thousands. What do they all taste like? Is there a perfect variety for every dish?

In 2025, we put down roots on 12 acres in Lee County, Illinois. Today Mega Family Farms grows specialty fruit — honeyberries, pawpaws, heirloom tomatoes and peppers — and turns the harvest into small-batch pantry goods under our Craft Culture label: fermented kraut and kimchi, spiced nut cocktails, and more.

The mission hasn't changed since the home-office days: make variety accessible. True wellness begins with biodiversity — and we're growing it.
